If you use a hollow jig take a oil needle and put the nibbles in it and shoot it up in the jig and then tip with minnow. The best of both worlds.

I'm not big on minnows and feel if crappie are there you don't need them. I do however like a nibble on that jig if they are slow, it seems to help. As for the color of nibble always used chart. Tried white but they didn't seem to like it as well.

I know for a fact in some situations Nibbles and minnows work when just a jig wouldnt catchem as good, seen it many times. I ussually go with nibbles but i love tipping with a minnow too. In a recent trip to Dardanelle myself and my partner saw our spider rigging rods with nibbles get pounded and the rods without a nibble just sat idle. Baited all rods up with nibbles and we then started catching fish on all rods. Have seen the same thing happen with minnows. I also believe that crappie s will hold onto a jig longer if it has a nibble or minnow tipped. JMO
