    I've been looking at DI units similar to yours. I've said it before....I hope yo let us know how you like it, once you try it out and get used to it.

    Hey Nimrod - I run a HB898. With stick steering I only need one depth finder. The thing that I really like is the side image. You can mark structure that is in the side image without being over it and go back to it with the GPS screen. HB makes a great unit

    i have two birds in my fishing machine a 596hd di up front and 798hd si combo in the console!!! nimrod got to see what both had to offer in the fall !!!!!!!!!

    I had 2 older Eagle fish finders until 2weeks ago on my Lowe 175w. I had been contemplating an upgrade and made the mistake of attending the Humminbird operational seminar at Grizzly Jig. I ended up purchasing a 385ci di. I bow mounted it and was sufficiently impressed last Thursday when I had it out for the first time, that I decided I needed to upgrade the console unit as well. My friend is a Lowrance guy so for the console I got an Elite-5 Gold on the way. I know that means format conversions on waypoints etc, but I already have the gpx's in a usr format and ready to upload when I get the Lowrance...

    I'm using a lower end lowrance on the back end for temp. and depth and some structure. On the front I have a color garmin and its pretty nice maybe one day I will be able to upgrade to one of the big boy units.
