    Default Spring has Sprung

Is every body ready for the spawn. If this weather holds up it might come early. I was out today and had to take this pic. Are they ever going to finish Bono Lake. It needs a dam

Billy E! They are doing it here in paragould, ar right now too! That just makes me laugh so hard! My grandpaw used to always tell me about when the dogwoods start that crappie are soon to follow! He used to raise quail on his back porch when i was like 10-12 years old. (o the chicken eggs i thot i was eating) i remember one day he grabbed me and said you gotta see this son. said ok. went out back and he just walked me into a blooming dogwood tree. i kinda said ok whats this mean? he said crappie son? i was not amused at all. we walked back in thru grandmaws kitchen and she asked what the rush outside was? he said the dogwoods are blooming. she said huh this kichen has been blooming for about a week now. grandpaw said well we had better get back to cleaning those quail birds. i said no i was watching tv. he said well you better get back to doing that! may not mean much to you guys but true and what its all about in my book! they where so poor he just wanted to give it a try but never really had the funds or a way to do so. that being said im gonna post a few pics and make him proud!

Who knows, but I've walked it with my handheld GPS to mark those channels

With that new fancy fish finder you can throw that GPS away. And cooler, Blooming dogwoods mean 3 things, Crappie, Coyote and Turkey

The way things are looking the spawn will be early...at least in SE Ark. That's good cause I will be glad to get that boat traffic over with and get back to normal fishing!!!

Whut he sez! The way these pre spawn crappie females are feeding, it won't be too much longer. Even had a few males today.

Yea, we say that every year...then it turns cold for a few nights to send 'em deeper. Warms enough to get us thinking again...then it turns cold a few more nights sending 'em back again. Next think you know it's the first of March and if youre lucky you'll catch a few of the 1st big females way back in the shallows when everybody else is out fishing the flats catching numbers of eating size fish.

Just a reminder...March is only 4 weeks from now.
