Nimrod, if I was as good as you with a knife, I'd agree with ya. But, I have only so many fingers. I've seen you work and keep up with electric knives.

If you can find one of the older B&D with the straight blades and the narrow handle, get it. Xring and I both use them and they do a good job but we can't find any more like it. I have cleaned hundreds of lbs of catfish and crappie. It still works good but the blades got dull on mine. I never owned a Mr Twister but they look just like the B&D that I just described except for the color. I think that is what they are. They had to make a junk version to supply Wal-Marts.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

rtark, those blades are pretty easy to sharpen. Bring them to spring camp and I'll touch them up.

I'd bet my G.Pa cleaned more fish with an EL knife than most you have seen, no joke! So I knew about the best ones. Those Rapala's aren't worth it. I have a Mr Twister now from walmart but the bread knives are the best, cheapest too! Always have a backup though for when one takes a dump on you while you are cleaning fish. I had to use the backup last Summer when after a loud pop and some smoke all was over for the one I was using. G.Pa used to take them back from Walmart and get an new one each time. I've seen the same thing happen to him too, he calmly walks into the shop and gets the other one saying he'll take the broke one back to walmart for a trade. God rest his sole, he's gone now but he taught me quite a lot, miss him so much.

I just got the American Angler 31615 from Grizzly. They had it for 29.95 and so far it works fine. It has a little too much cord when you get it stretched out. 12 volt or 120 either.
