If you don't locate some, check Academy or Wally World. They're not real expensive.

Put it in the water, idling will only tell you it will idle,,I'd want to load the motor, even if I didn't take it off the trailer..just saying

Those are nice well built boats. On par with champion, and ranger for that year. When I lived in Springdale late 80's there were as many of those on Beaver as anything else. 2 guys that worked for me had them an 86 and a 88. Both guys loved them. Like Xring said you need to put in water to run with load on it to see if it will idle ok. Muffs will tell you that it will start but no load will let it run even if carbs are messed up. Good luck with it and know you will enjoy.

Palarm creek would be the closest access to the river from maumelle but see you said the boat may be in morrilton. Good looking boat. I'm with xring, make sure that motor does more than idle, those darn things are expensive these days.

I would for sure run it. It would also be a good idea to do a compression check on the motor, make sure the transom is solid, and the pull the plug on the lower unit after running to make sure there is not water intrusion. Charger boats have been around for a long time and have a reputation for building a good quality boat.
