1st day on Degray and I'm missing my home waters already! I only caught 3, they were big, but only 3. Fish seemed to be in that 20-30' depth range as some on here were saying but I didn't mark very many either. Perfect day like today I only wish I were back on a certain OK lake....I bet I could've torn em up today the way the weather was. I'm going back tomorrow though, some bass fisherman said most crappie fisherman stay up river further than the Moor landing so I may go up there tomorrow. Biggest action I had was a fair sized bass that hit in about 30' of water. I was sure hoping I'd found the slabs. At least I wasn't blanked I guess.

Hang in there. Degray can be tough, until you find them. Once you do, you'll catch a lot of big slabs. All the way up river to Shouse Ford and Point Cedar is pretty common for crappie fishermen to located. I really would have thought Arlie Moore would have treated you better. I got another report yesterday of a limit of slabs coming out of that area. Although, they stayed closer to the main lake as opposed to going towards Oak Bower & the Boy Scout Camp. You might try around the Lost Ramp (Ramp 13 I believe) also known as the Lenox Marcus area. We've got some Crappie Condos just north of the ramp....not sure if they're at the right dept or not. The coordinates are in the file I sent you.

Agri hawg, do you know where I could get a map of degray with all the new structure the game and fish put out last year? I have a hard time finding good structure (deeper brush) on degray, and living so far I simply do not have time. Appreciate your help

Same thing happened to J. Johnson and myself over on Dardanelle. They had been catching limits everyday and then we try it and get skunked. A large lake can be very hard to find and stay on fish. Hope you find them and have a good day. I hear there are soon huge crappie over there.
Good Luck,
Dave
CATCH A BIG-UN
Well no hugh crappie today. I didn't even catch 1 single crappie today and kept my boat in the 23-33 or 34 depth range and jigs a few feet off bottom??? I know there's some guys on here who've had success on Degray but I seriously doubt the big numbers of crappie they claim. Next trip I'm not sure where I go as Ouachita is a little further and same type lake, BIG! I wish I had these last 2 days on some more familiar waters....I know I could've found em!.
McCrappie, I didn't know the AG&FC put out any deep structure. The only stuff I knew about were the ones they paid a lady (she fishes pro tourneys) to place. All of that was shallow, and was out of the water almost all summer. I'm not even sure who you would call to find out if they placed any deep. Sorry.

constructskeeter, sorry my advice hasn't helped you any.
