We just couldn't find them today. We tried deep and shallow and in between. Standing timber, lay downs, Hwy 12 bridge, boat docks and rock cliffs. Minnows, jigs ( at least 10 different colors) and a little spoon. Caught as many small bass as we did crappie and 9 1/2 inches was a big as it got. Can catch them at beaver in spring, summer and fall. First time in Winter. Guess I have a lot to learn about winter crappie habits.

Tex you were not alone. I fished at Hickory Creek all day today and caught one keeper and about 8 small crappie. A few white bass and LM. The day was beautiful and I bet you enjoyed the day with your son had a great day. Most of the ones I caught were still at 9' in 15' to 25' of water. I spider rigged, trolled cranks, jigged and spooned.
