    Default North Ark ideas

Spending Thanks giving in Northern Ark this year. My dad and one of his buddies decided I was taking them crappie fishin. They dont need to knock em dead or catch a monster. They just want to do a smaller lake with a cabin and a few beers and all will be good. Myself, I found lakes like Thunderbird, Crown, Poinsett, Charles and Frierson in North Ark. I know nothing about any of them. Dad just wont do a longer drive. Anyhow if anyone knows of cabins on any of these lakes with a descent crappie population it would be much appreciated.

Rodneyver.....If you are talking about Thunderbird Lake in Cherokee Village it's a private lake for it's residents with a premit. There is some decent crappie in it, but there hard to catch....for me anyway.
I've seen a couple of so called ''3 pounders'', more like 2 1/2 pound, but still a good size crappie.
I know nothing about the other lakes at all,......sorry.
    Good Luck.......crappie cowboy

I think it is in Cherokee village and didnt know it was private. Thats 1 down and 3 or 4 to go. Ive been trying to research them on the web but its the same old stuff about the lakes in north ark. Size depth and ... but no one with any real time on the lakes giving information.

Well beagle I reserved cabins at Crown Lake and any info would be awesome, were headed there blind and the old guys will be restless real quick. I talked to the people at the marina and they dont know much about the crappie. Im a little worried but gonna give them hell. Seems like no one puts much time on the water there so maybe we can get lucky.

go to the north end up by the fishing dock, start down the lake working out about 25 to 35 feet from the docks that are dotted there, out in front of the docks are cedar, then when you get to saugey flats just north of the marina, big drop off work it slow, it's easy to find,,,, then down by the dam there is a boat slip close to the last house on the south end, has a through goes up to the house for driving boat into,,, get in the 22 to 55 ft of water and work slow, big crappie there.... It has been a few years since I fished there but it was always good, arround the end of the marina dock was always good to,,,, work them docks slow all of them,,,, and In crown point cove there is a big brush pile on the south side the side farthest from the condos.... it's in shallow water so bobber and minnow is awsome,,,, lots of brush piles in the lake,,,, good luck
