    Default 2 Questions

I've been looking at some of the new fish finders but I really don't know enough about them. What would you guys suggest? I do want one that shows the pic of the fish not just the echo. Thanks for your help.

Next I forgot my password so I let the site send me another one to my email. However, it is one that I will never be able to remember. Doh How can I enter a new one that I might have a chance to remember? Thanks

On depthfinders unless you want to spend a ton of money for side imaging, try the low end. Cuda 300 on my boat shows temp, has wide angle transducer (really need in shallow waters), shows good view of what's under my boat. It has fish ID setting to show fish symbols. I only paid about 70.00 plus tax too!

A friend of mine has a Humminbird 565 and I really like it. It shows the brush as brush but also has the fish symbols at the same time. Not sure if the temp is extra or not. I think it's a 570 now for about 200 bucks.

Most any DF will give you the option of fish ID or echo. Neither one will assure you that it is a fish or a leaf, stick etc. I recommend that you get one with a lot of resolution and as large a screen as you can get for the money you want to spend. Mine is 320x 320 resolution and is fine. I have been looking into a down image but don't know yet if there is any advantage.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

Slabbandit, I believe that is what I looked at in Gander Mountain a couple weeks ago but they were $349 to $369. Where exactly are you looking under your boat from what the screen is showing if the transducer is on the front or back of the boat. I know this sounds dumb but I'm trying to learn something about this new technology. I don't want to fish the front if the fish are in the back. lol  Thanks

Thanks rtark, I plan on buying a nice DP but not extreme. I was looking at somewhere between $350 to maybe $650 but if there is something out there that everybody knows is a good unit for the money I would consider it for sure. What kind is the one you use? Thanks again.

Thanks Meatgetter, I am not sure what the different attributes are between normal, down or side imagining or exactly how they work. I want to know though so I can make an intelligent purchase. I appreciate your help.
