I read this post after I posted my post. Downsizing put meat in the boat for me today. As I posted, I fished a brush pile with only a few of those hard taps that you know all about. After seeing at least a trillion little shad in the water about 1/2 " long, I downsized to my little slab bandits and filled the Ice chest up in a short while.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.

rtaark, can you post a pic of the little slab bandits or tell me where you get them? After we couldn't do any good on stakebeds today we finally found that no matter how deep of water we were in the crappie were only 2 or 3 feet deep. I finally figured out that they had abandoned all the stakebeds that I fished and were following the million tiny shad on the surface. It was real easy to fish under them if you were not careful.
We found while fishing deep that we were catching fish or getting hits when we were about to lift our jigs out of the water. Thats when we started to figure things out.
Ended up with close to 2 limits all over 10 inches with the last fish of the day over a pound and a quarter.

Sorry for being so late. Here is the address. They are $2.50 for a 20 pack. They are about the same size as the young shad that are so thick on Dardanelle. I use the blueberry pearl and strawberry flash.
