Yep Nimrod caught on Trot lines on Conway with Brim. Every now and then I bait out for them as I love eating flathead just about as much as crappie. I have caught many over the years here on Conway. I really believe Conway has more Flat heads per square acre of surface water that any other body of water in the State. With Fall right around the corner they are going to go on a bitting rampage.

Glad you're back, dude. Looks like you had a great time at Bull Shoals. You and Shelly had your hands full with that many students, didn't you? Did the egg pattern work, or did you get to try it? Nice flatheads. I didn't have you figured as a closet trotliner!!! Rofl

I tried the Egg pattern Ski didnt have any luck from the bank, moss was too bad to use it. We Tore them up on three Fi-Yellow power balls, #six wire hook and just a big split shot three feet above the hook. The three floating power balls were critical to keep the bait floating above the moss. There was no low level water during our time there and the river is constantly flowing. I caught a very nice limit right next to the State Bait Shop on the down current side. LOL A guide come in with his clients and asked me what I was USing as he watched me reel in a couple 2lb rainbows. Yep I bait trot lines and I would say if I bait out for ya you have better than a 50/50 shot at taking home a delicious flat head for dinner.

Great catch Russ!!! I wish i had me some of that flathead!!! I love em, and i believe my momma would kill for em!! She grew up eating nothing but flathead out of big ditch and bayou meto down around seaton and would rather eat flathead than anything in this whole world!!!
