Silence means only one of two things. Either they aren't catching them or they are tearing them up.

I think I could catch some there about now. Gonna see real soon.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and
a gun the goes bang when it is supposed to go click.

Well I'll have to answer the question. Went Saturday. Total of about 7-8 boats mostly bass fishermen. water dingy and still higher than i like it.Hit most of my spots and caught about 50 of the smallest crappie I have caught out of 9 mile. Out of the 50 I had about 2-3 actual keepers with none topping a pound or so. Wasn't smart enough to go to Melwood sunday and went back to burnt cane to try a little harder. Did worse than Saturday. About 30-35 with another couple of keepers if you call 10-11 inchers keepers. When you found a spot with a few you could catch them lickety split. All dinks. Go to a spot where I usually catch a few gooduns and get nothing. Again water is still about a foot higher than I like it. The water is about 4 inches down from the top of the runout. Almost dislodged a few rocks to let it start dropping. Got checked by the possum cops and was embarrased to let them open the cooler. Guess I am gonna stay away til fall and hope it clears up some. Water gets muddier the farther down you go. Did see on bass fisherman catch a few on a wacky worm. Who'd a thought it?

Good report GS. I knew I hadn't heard a word about 9 mile all year, and I usually do.
