I was fishing Lake Conway yesterday, It was about 1:00 PM, heat index was 114, eyes were blurry, got dizzy, felt exhausted, and could not drink enough water. Was on my way back in to the bank and Just... had to fish just one more cluster of live cypress trees. Pulled up to the trees and had a good slab strike on the shady side of the cluster. Got the fish to the top the jig popped out of his mouth and went flying high into the tree limbs above, but close enough to get the jig out of the trees. Just as I untangled the jig from the limbs I swung the pole around thinking i was clear of the trees and drove the pole, line, and jig right back into another BIG MESS!!! Not to mention the five stumps I got the boat stuck on while trying to get back top the boat ramp. I swear I was having a HEAT STROKE.Anybody else having these symptoms? By the Grace of our Good Lord I made it back to the bank safe and with my sanity.

CATCH A BIG-UN
This heat is dangerous hot. Got a little shakey the last 2 times I was out. I think it was due to the heat.

It is risky being out in this heat. I almost lost my oldest daughter to a heat stroke Sunday before last. She spent a full week in the hospital, it can happen before you know it. If it's not in the forecast for cloudy day, I'm probably staying home. Waiting for a fall cool down. Glad you were okay CP.
A bad day of fishing
beats a good day at work.

Russ...hey that was definately the signs of heat stroke. I had a similar experience bushhoggin' couple week back. I felt crummy for a couple day after that...that mid-day heat is brutal and if you've been out in it...it sneaks up on you.
CDC'ers ..... let's all be careful...

Fishin' with 114 degrees heat index ......hmmmmm.........not sure you made it back with your sanity! LOL Man, take care of yourself and don't push to the limit of hurting yourself! Funny thing, I almost was out there with you to try out my new 8 foot Sportsbrella!
My wife keeps saying I never listen to her....... or something like that!
Good to see you made it back safely... This heat is no joke! I have been in the same situation whereas i felt light headed... So i headed in! LOL (Stressing and working up your heart rate won't make it any better either)... Deep breathes & calm actions could make all the difference in the world...
