Hey guys i was looking through some articles on trolling and came across one that said when you catch your first fish, stop the boat. Take about 10 feet of line with a bobber on one end and a hook on the other and hook that fish you just caught and throw the whole thing overboard, then follow that bobber and your "scout fish" will lead you right back where it cam from, and you'll know right where the crappie are schooling. Have any of you ever heard of that? Sounds iffy to me

Yea like those RC Fishing boats
I tried it and I kept gettin hung up on the scout fish. He wouldn't dodge them bandits, plus when I stopped, all my lines got clustered up. NOT!!! Just a plain ole lie on my part. Don't ya love fishermen?

me and dad have wanted to try it but never have
Try it sometime, you might be SURPRISED!!!!!!!
Man that sounds like a good tip, but when i stop think about it. If some one pulled my out of my living room by the mouth, made me hold my breath till I was about dead, then stuck me in the arse with another hook with this thing attached to me. I think i would be running and hiding in fear of an alien attack. LOL

Lol CrappiePro, thats what I was thinking. I thought, yeah right, he wouldn't lead me to a school, he'll probably swoop behind the first stump he sees and lay up and shiver awhile. My biggest problem about trying it is, I don't think I can make myself throw a landed crappie back in!
