    Default Build #2 leftovers

Guys the last build we failed to sink all the pallets and pallet stakebeds. Anyone interested in helping sink them? We need to get them out of Harold's yard as he is getting a new double wide trailer soon. We need to be sure and sink them carefully as some have floated up in Carter Cove. Some of the pallet beds from the two builds are produce'n Crappie . The refurbished Corps brushpiles we helped with have been fished hard by the public and are producing fish.Hands Clapping Hopefully we can redo more of them in the future working with the Corps. I asked one of the Corps workers about some marker bouys. Hopefully we can get them marked in the future for those visiting the lake with no GPS. Thumbs Up

Count me in! Let me know when and I'll be there. Need to do it before September though if we can. Do you know how many more pallets we have over there?

    Hey Ski,
There is probably 8 or 10 made up and a couple stacks of pallets and a pile of material left. September sounds great to me. I will only be 4 to 6 weeks out from surgery but I can help direct good places to put them out at. I would like to mix in a little brushpile building and do some cane condos this time. Harold has to cut down several hardwood trees to get his new doublewide in and the tops will be just right to use.
A few of us locals can cement up the boo and it will be ready to drop on the day of the build. We talked last time about watermelon and ice cream after the fish dinner next time.Thumbs Up

You can count me in. As long as I'm not working I will make arrangements to be there. I've missed the last 2 so I will try hard to make this one

Count me in if I'm able. I bought 25, 5 gal. buckets the other day with lids on them, if we need them for cane. I'm pretty much down until Sept., but I can still furnish something to do my part.Got my camper moved over to Nimrod yesterday, and can't wait to get this operation over, and get over there.

Yea Steve, We could always use the buckets and lids to build boo and to sink brush.

    Hey Steve,

I wish I had known you were going to buy buckets. I have been collecting them since last winter and have about 75 stored up. I'll make them available to any of you guys who want to build boo buckets or stake buckets prior to the build. Just pm me if you want some of them. They dont have lids now because I've been throwing the lids away! Doh Didn't know you used the lids to build cover. How soon do we need to get the pallets and stuff out of Harold's yard?

    Hey Ski,
We need to move them within a few weeks as he will be getting his new trailer within a month. We need to pick another Corp pile to rebuild with the tops from Harold's trees. We can never have too many buckets and I like having the lids so we can fill them with rocks and replace the lids with a hole cut in top for the air to escape. I just use a 1 1/2 to 2" hole saw. I use them when sinking brush.

    Dave,

I have a pretty steady supply of buckets and they come with lids on them so I'll start saving the lids from now on. Like I said, I didn't know you used the bucket with the lid on it so I've just been throwing the lids away! Next time I come over there fishing I bring some of these I have stockpiled so you can get some structure (cover) built before we have the next build. I may holler at you before that as I need to catch a mess of crappie to take to my source of buckets and maybe get you and Harold, and maybe Nimrod to help me out on that a little bit. They don't have to be big ones for my source.
