    Default Nimrod lake still hot

I took a neighbor out Catfishing. Him , his wife , and son followed in their boat. I kept a limit of Catfish by 8 am. Left them to fish while I looked for Crappie. Had a limit with a few good ones by 10 am. Stayed till about another hour hoping to cull a few. But only caught a couple more throw backs and a couple Green Carp (LM Bass ). Did'nt take any photos this time. The lake is'nt crowded in this heat.

I've never used a meat getter jig and sure don't ever use minnows. You must have me mixed up with someone else . I use 1/8 oz jigheads inside a 2'' Southern Pro Umbrella tube. Verticle jiggin is my method ,spider riggin or trolling with minners is seining to me. Love to feel that thump!

I get an unpainted leadhead in 1/8 oz make sure all flash (sharp edges from molding) are smoothed off. Dip in scent for lube , push inside umbrella tube . I like to put a tiny barrel swivel a couple feet up from jig to prevent line twist. Here is a picture of one. Works best on 6 or 8 lb test line. Only draw back is you must cut off jig head to replace tube when needed. But tubes last much longer with out small fish pulling them of jig head. I started putting the on the end from hook and using lead barb on jig head to hold them on. But with my way you loose less tubes and unpainted lead heads are much cheaper. I use this on bait in several colors 99 % of the time.

They caught a few nice Catfish before I left. They were having line breakage issues. Appears they set their drags too tight. Excuse was they are Bass fishers. LOL LOLRofl Have'nt talked since I left them on the Catfish hole.

Which one? LOL I've caught a limit of Catfish or Crappie everyday I went for about 2 weeks. Some days I double dipped ,Catfish limit then a limit of Crappie.
