I powder coat my own jigs. I use pro-tec paints and use a small torch. Don't use a regular candle, the soot causes the paint to not adhere properly. I do it for fun and to get the exact color I want. It's cheaper to buy them than it is to paint them in my limited experience. Now if you were painting 1000+ it would be a different story.

I tried a lighter but melted the head off the hook lol. Can y'all explain technique.. I first used oven to heat them up, dipped em, then put back in oven. That worked ok just thought there might be better way.

do what agrihawg said, heat the head all around for 2 to 3 seconds, dip the head in the powder paint and give it a little shake, then take another hook or something small to clean your eyes out, your ready to hang on a clothes line until dry.

I use a small propane torch to heat mine, it only takes a couple seconds to get it heated.

I use a lighter to heat my jigs, but it takes only about 2 seconds to heat it up, any longer, and you run the risk of melting the head off the jig completely.

Also, if you grab the eye of the hook with some hemostats and then dip the jig into the powder, you do not allow the powder to get in the eye, and thus eliminating the need to clean the eye out.

I have PPainted thousands. I use an electric paint stripper but a hair dyer will work ok. I hold the jig by the hook with a pair of forceps and heat it up, usually takes 5 seconds. Make sure the PP is stirred up good then dip the head in the pp and tap off the excess. Sometimes I mix a little glitter in some clear PP then redip them in that. After I do a couple dozen, I hang them in a toaster oven at 350 degrees for 15 minutes but make sure you clean the eyes out first cuz when you bake them the PP gets hard as steel. If when you dip them in PP and it don't gloss and flow out, you can hit the head with the heat untill the PP gets glossy and smooth.
    It ain't nuttin but luck.
