Lake Ouachita
Hey guys, Headed to Crystal Springs Resort on Lake Ouachita this weekend for a family reunion. Hope to get in a little fishing while im there. Any suggestions on how to fish that lake this time of year? Never been on this lake before,not familiar with locations at all, so i will be staying close to resort on the south central part of the lake. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks

Hello Crappiejones,
I am heading to Ouachita fro 10-22June i am camping at Joplin Rec area, just over the mountain to the west of you. I will be spearfishing and crappie fishing well probable be fishing for a lil bit of everything. As for Crappie I am going to spider rig brush tops and hydrilla in 12-25 feet of water. The water is still really high so may be able to crappie fish in submerged buck brush. I will try to send you a picture of some areas i have had good luck in the past.

Hey fetmo....I am thinking Ouachita is gonna be a little dirty for much visability at all. especially on the Shangri-la end of the lake. You will probably want to go above Crystal to look for some visability. I have killed a lot of fish at checkerboard and on the backside of crawfish island. Good luck to you.
