    Default Limb Lines

Yesterday I stopped and picked up 50ct SS 7/0 hooks, roll of string, and 2 lb of slicks. Spent a good couple hours cutting the strings to length and burning the ends, tied loops in each end. Guys I took time as always to make everything perfect, nice and neat!
Got em all hung up and baited last night, got home about 10:00pm.
Got up at 4:00am to go run them.
    Ya know what I caught?
1 little ole channel catfish! And come home with 3 less lines!
That's a very good start to a very bad day!

JPJ, where do you buy your slicks? Ended up with Dads inventory of Trotlines , set hooks , and supplies. Was wanting to run some lines and didn't know where to get the slicks.
    Thanks,

Was bait missing? You may need to file the hooks some. Just because theyre brand new doesnt necessarily mean theyre sharp.:o

I use 5/0 stainless on mine and catch some awful good ones. Hook my big slicks through the lips or eyes. I try to catch big slicks to deter the little Channels.

We'll be cussin' you when we run across 'em when we are getting back into that good spot and your line catches on the motor. How did you put your personal info on them??? One trick I use is on a yo-yo I cut small pieces of reflective tape and put on each side. On a limb line I wrap the tape around the line up a ways out of the water. hit them with a light and you can see them a long way off.
Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
