    Default boat, motor and trailer

Hey guys, I was told by my wife's granddad to sell his boat, trailer and motor. I have no clue what to start asking for it, but I do know that the motor is kind of sought after by some duck hunters.

The boat and traielr is nothing special, but it looks liek one of them yankee boats with a flat bottom, and pointy nose, and very hig sides. The motor is a very clean, 1994 (I think), 25hp Suzuki, 3 cylinder, long shaft motor. It runs GREAT and has no problems that I can find. I am going to take it out on the water this weekend and open her up and see what she will do.

Any input from you guys on a starting asking price would be nice.

What is the model numbers for your suzuki 25? My duck hunting buddy has a 3 cylinder 25 and it will fly. If it's a 94 the average NADA depending on which model 25 is $500-$600. Like I said there were 3-4 different models listed, so the others may be worth a little more. Just googled it on NADA.COM

    LM,

ANY 25hp that runs is worth $500. ANY boat that don't leak is worth $250. ANY trailer that's road worthy and has a clear title is worth $250.

Now for add ons, you're right on the duck hunters liking those 3cyl motors. It being a long shaft isn't preferable, but is OK. This time of year you should be able to get $1500 for just the motor. 2 weeks before duck season, probably $2000.

Don't short sell it unless it's in the way or quick cash is needed. $2500- $2750 would be the lowest I'd even consider taking for it if was in my back yard. Probably start @ around 3 grand if everything works on the trailer and $3250 if there's anything special (high sides/seats/lights/livewell/no leaks) with the boat.

I'll give ya $500 for it if you're wanting to move it pretty quick.

Motor is gonna make it worth a little more. You can find them on craigslist 16 to 1800. I would do a search on there to see the value. You are correct that the motor is wanted by duckhunters and they are a crazy bunch. They may give you alot more as clean as it is.
