Having lived on Lake Conway most of my life, I have witnessed alot of mischief on that lake. I have had people running my lines for me and I have had a couple of boats get tampered with. I lived on the water and I usually kept my flatbottom boats in the water all of the time behind my house. I have had them come up missing and found them floating in the lake with the rope or chain that had them tied up laying in the boat. I figured it was kids that was up to most of the mischief cause I always got my boat back with the motors and the trolling motors still attached, just drifting around with a empty gas tank. I wasshot
at out there on that lake two different times while out running my trotlines at night, there is no feeling like the feeling I got when I heard a 22 bullet bounce off the side of my boat and when I heard that famous zing that a 22 makes when it ricochets off of some thing
. When I heard that zing and that pop of the bullet on my boat I turn my spot light off real fast, cause that is what they were aiming at. To this day I still dont know who was shooting at me or why. After that incident I moved my trotlines to a different spot, much further out of gunshot range. It was hard enough having to dodge stumps in the dark, but bullets was a whole different ball game.
