    and are there still lilly pads in the upper end of the lake? been years since i fished it and back then there were lilly pads and in those pads were bass and more bass.

    No lilly pads in Poinsette.

    that's a shame. there used to be a big patch of them. that had to be back in the 60's.

    Old you been on charles recently? What happened to the grass, there is still some down under the water but it dont look to be growing any time soon.

    Hey RCC If you can get them out of the brush the fishing is good in the end of the coves. We were there from 12-4 Saturday and caught a few over 11" most were under. If the wind would let us fish I think we would have done better.

    go to lake charles. you won't have to take your own tree to fish. i was by there today and there were only 3 trucks with trailers at the ramp. there's no doubt in my mind that they were just absolutely loading the boat with big crappie. and my mind hasn't failed me lately.

    Loading the boat with big crappie or little crappie is all good. They all taste the same and since the invention of photo shop, the fish can be as big as you want them to be.
