    Default Request for emergency help

My dear crappie fishing brothers from Arkansas, I have a friend from La. who's son is lost in Arkansas along with a group of scouts. Here is his plea, if anyone can lend help or be on the watch out for them it would be most welcome.

""""My grandson went camping and hiking with the boy scouts in Langley, Arkansas. They are in the Ouachita National Forest on the Eagle Rock Trail. The van was found parked by the Winding Stairs Trailhead.

Langley is just west of Hot Springs. If anyone knows someone that could help or have resources that could help find these boys please call me. My son is there now.

They were supposed to be home (back in Louisiana) yesterday. (Sunday)

Thanks for listening and hopeful some one can help.

I hope the story is about the boys you are looking for and they are all still safe. A good scout leader and woodsman considers safety long before he considers time schedules

luvin.fishing, there was a report that they were safe but then another one saying the first report was not correct. Hopefully the report you have listed is another update one.

You're right Strip, let's hope their leader is up to the task, and not just some city slicker. No offense to anyone, but you know what I mean. It's one thing to read the book, but another to "git 'er done".

    Associated Press - May 2, 2011 2:04 PM ET

LODI, Ark. (AP) - Six Boy Scouts and two adults failed to return as scheduled from a weekend camping trip in southwestern Arkansas. Searchers contacted the group and said Monday that high water had left the eight stranded but safe.

The group from Louisiana is isolated near the Albert Pike Recreation Area in the Ouachita (WASH-ih-taw) National Forest, where flash flooding killed 20 campers last June.

Fuzz Robins of the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office says the group is on high ground. He said the group had camping supplies including food, water and tents.

It wasn't known how well the group was stocked nor how long it would take for them to leave the area. Heavy rains have flooded rivers throughout Arkansas and local officials weren't sure when they could reach the campers.

Great news if it's correct. My friend is more hopeful now and will be glad when he hears directly from someone.

    Here's the latest from grandpa

Just got an update from my son who apparently has the only satellite phone in the area.

The reports are false, they have not made contact with any in the group. They only assume to know where they are. No helicopter is being used because it's not a "priority search". Bet if one of the boys were the son or grandson of a %$#@^& politian it would become a priority.
