Howdy, do not fish Conway anymore...but when I did, I had two methods that produced for me...this was before all the Conway crappie fishing hype...number one was trolling in the boat lanes...10 lb test, smallest rattletrap or spot and smallest model A...chrome when sun is out and chatreuse when cloudy...about the 3 setting on a 40 lb trolling motor (different days, different speeds)...did not have any rod holders in those days, so one bait on the left and one on the right...second method was shiners under a cork fished about 3 to 6 feet from the trunk of cedar trees...trying to find the knees...depth of minnow depends on depth of lake and water clarity...clear - 18 to 24 inches...murky - 24 to 36 inches (generally)...I always put enough lead on the line to make the cork stand up and keep that shiner from getting me hung up (too much)...if you can find a spot that has lilly pads about 3 to 6 feet from the cedars, try it...of course all this is relative, depending on the spawn...tournaments do have a way of putting the quietuss on folks...maybe I am just being negative...break a leg...
Save the planet, it is my favorite place to fish...
