For all you spider riggers,

I need to scoot my rod holders closer to my seat for comfort and ease of re-bating etc. By doing this I will be decreasing the distance my poles are out in front of my boat. My question is, how critical is it to have the baits way out in front of the boat ?

I am using 13 foot Black Widows and I think even with this modification my baits will be 8 to 10 feet in front of my trolling motor.

I don't fish clear water lakes so I am hoping this will still work.

I cant scoot my seat closer to the rod holders due to the design of my boat and the fact that the front seat sits on a "box" mounted to the floor.

Any advice will be appreciated.
