Wading can be very productive. Just don't get in a hurry. Roots and deep holes can be anywhere.

My favorite little honey hole is now under about 4 ft of extra water. I'd love to fish it, but last time we went it was a wasted effort. Anybody got any tricks for high water crappie fishing? Its a slough of the main river usually about three to four foot deep. Now the water is up around 8 or 9 foot, and out in the woods its probably a foot to 18 inches. dang near impossible to get a boat through the woods. Was wondering if I should try wading around, or will the fish still hang out around the edge of the slough? Thanks for the input.

We both know thr still there, but im in the same vote as far as knowing what to do! They have more habitat which means thr mostly scattered and being opportunists at feeding... I would think they are not spawning in the timber just making the best of a short lived opportunity. I would wait and let the river fall and running steady! I have real good reports dblevens that the south oxbow lakes that are "Cut Off" are hot to real hot right now!! I gotta kill a turkey before i can get back to these paper mouths and i hope soon!! Good Luck and keep your coolerfull.......
