Default Anybody do any good Saturday?

I struck out big time. Don't know if it was the cold or if I just don't know what I'm doing. Dad and I tried jigs and minnows from 1ft deep in 1 fow to 12 ft deep in 18 fow. We didn't catch the first crappie.

Just wondering if anyone else had trouble catching them Saturday.

Clear Lake Saturday ....Wife and I caught about 20 or so dinks 5" to 8" crappie. Rosie Reds and Black/Chart jgs tipped with rosie's in 7 ft water. No keepers, none caught in less than 5 FOW. Tried Gold Creek Friday. One slab and one dink in about 5 hours of fishing.

We only kept 2 and a Bass. The east wind kept us off our hot spot. My fishing buddy left yesterday. I called him just before 9 am this morning to tell him I had limited out already. He said that figures, though they would bite with the wind change. Crazy things normally hit any color but refused silver/white , but clobber Purple Chartruse. The are hitting dark colors with Chartruse. Tried two poles to start with one of each color and after 6 on Purple/Chartruse Umbrella Tubes the silver/ white was changed.

I took a trip to My home town of Blytheville (mississippi County)for my sister birthday party and while i was there heard stories of the Crappie that were being caught at Mallard Lake. So me and my brother went out to see what those boys were up too. There had to be 30 or more trucks and boat trailer out. As we approached the lake several guys were bank fishing about two feet in the first lake and had a nice batch of crappie in ther fishing basket some were slabs caught on minnows. We made it to the back end of the lake and stop and talked to a group that were camping out with tents, generator and 10 ft freezer with a batch of fresh slabs 2lbs+ fired in cornmeal in mixing bowl. The were catching them around those ciper trees about 5ft deep on red/chartuse jibs and minnows. They said the females were on those beds and males were coming in. That got my crappie bug the jumping so i couldnt wait to get back central arkansas. Those ciper trees remind me of Conway lake. As we it on the other side we saw a boy pulling one out i thought he was hung but know it was a slab when he reached for his net. Well, I made back arnd 2pm sunday and decide to try Gold Creek lake. I got there man in bait shop said no body was doing any good.

Brought home 12, caught all but 1 on minnows, that one was caught on jig. all were 6-8ft deep 12-18fow. fought wind all day. Thanks goodness for terrova autopilot/copilot. I can only imagine what an i-pilot would do in 15mph wind......
    P.S. water temps 54-55 degrees.

A friend and I went last Friday to Cypress Lake near Benton Louisiana. We left with 32 crappie and 1 bass that we caught between 8:30 and 11:30 AM. Most of them caught on black/chartreuse hand tied hair jig in 2 feet of water. All 32 of the crappie were male fish. The jig I used was made by johnt_ms on the Louisiana board. He calls them Poison Jigs. They have the sickle hook and he will make custom orders. Give him a shout.
