They are deep and slower than before the front passed.

I went above Sunlight Bay Saturday and Sunday afternoon. We caught about 20 small ones both days in the channel about 5 to 6 ft. deep.

I kept 1/2 limit each day for the last 3 days. Fishing deep around cover in the lake. Released lots of small fish. Found bigger fish stage'n in deep water. Fewer bites in deep water but fewer dinks to contend with. This warmer water should help. Not sure if this drawdown did'nt hurt the lake for big fish. It should be a good spawn with the nutsedge grass in most of the shallow bottom areas. This should help the lake bounce back in a year or two.

When is it when they do all the trolling and spider rigging up there?

They usually troll from now through fall. Peak is post spawn when they suspend on flats chasing Shad or whatever they do in hot weather. One biologist said they filter feed off plankton type stuff ? I quit that type fishing years ago. At times when I can't get a good condo bite, I'll drag a couple jigs on the drop offs looking for suspended Crappie on drop offs. Stage'n fish can be caught sometimes prespawn , spawn, and post spawn just out from spawning banks. This year with the soild nut grass on most areas shallower than 8' , you will need to stay out deeper or fish shallow over the grass.
