Crappie limit

I think they should lower the limit on crappie to 20 for the state of arkansas.I also would like to see a lenght limit on them as will in all arkansas waters.Only lakes with stunted fish should be allowed more and posted as so.
With the newer trash fish in our waters and with our young crappie having to compet againest more for its food.This may be a :rolleyes:unforseen problem our kids and grandkids may in counter.We may not be able to do nothing about the newer trash fish in our waters but can learn how to control our limits for them to enjoy it too.

Most areas already 20 Crappie, size limits won't help everywhere either. What we need is a lower limit on fish 12'' and longer. No yoyos and a pole limit (2 or maybe 3 per person) . I know alot of folks use 6 to 12 poles here to spider rig. They say we only keep a limit, but kill lots more trolling muiltilpe poles baited with minnows when they swallow the hook. Some even cull fish in hot weather after limiting killing even more. There is nothing that will make everyone happy.
Every lake is different but on Nimrod it is the norm to keep about 1 out of 5 lots of days. Some places have too many small fish.

Turtlebait, applying statewide limits on all lakes won't work. Different lakes have different needs.

i think it should be raised to 50 in this area. sometimes 30 is just not enough and put a size limit if that's what you want at 8 inches and above. thin them out so the others can grow.

We need to control the trash fish that you are referring to. I am all for a Size restriction state wide for the length of crappie. I say we need to go to a 14-11/32" minimum for a keeper crappie and drop the limit to ten per person.Rofl But seriously each lake really needs to be addressed on a lake by lake basis. One rule for every lake will just create a whole new set of scenarios for different lakes. That is obvious because of the shape some of these lakes are in already. And the rules that effect what ever body of water you are referring to must not be working since you are wanting them changed. I agree with you, there needs to be something done to preserve the natural resources for the future generations up coming. Our AGFC has been turned political.

the woodypeckerwood and fish commission has been political since they were appointed. it's a money game. it's a bought position in one way or another. poor people don't get to be a woodypeckerwood commissioner. and they all get some place named after them when they serve their bought position.

do away with yo-yos and 10in min on 25 and5 under10in if your limit is 30 and if your limit is 20 then 15 over 10in and 5 under10in.
