Anyone know where to get a lower unit?

Hey Worldworstfisherman bought a little 14ft jon boat with a 7.5hp mercury outboard. Well we tore it down to replace some seals and the water pump and when we took the prop off we found that the part that holds the prop shaft seal was busted big time. When WWF was trying to get it all taken apart he knocked a chip out of the foot housing where it butts up to the prop. Does anyone out there know of any place we can start looking for a lower unit. Its a strong running motor, he hates the thought off trashing it. He was thinking of maybe just trying to sell the whole pkg boat, motor and trailer.

I tell you who to avoid. Good Olde Boys Trading post / AKA Johnny McIntosh located near Plainview / Nimrod Lake. He runs an ad everyday in the state newspaper want ads. He deals in salvage motors but I live right down the road from him and I refuse to deal with him. If you want to talk to folks that have and are sick about it PM me before hand . I can give you several unsatisfied customers names and #'s.

well harrison's in devalls bluff have alot of motors they just might have what you are looking for. 1 870 7179 that's the best i can do

I believe thats the same gearbox as on a 9.8, I have one that can be had. Your welcome to come by and compare to make sure.

I have a 9.8 mercury,don't know if it is the same or not.The bearings were bad in it.If it will do you any good you can have it for a 20 oz.diet coke.I live about 15 miles from Harrison on 65 hwy.

from what little info I was able to find, it looks like it will fit so I will be hitting you guys up soon or if you want send me a message and tell me what you want for them. The diet coke is a good deal but I couldn't do that. Im sure its worth more than that.
