Made a mistake and tried to use fluorocarbon line on a spinning reel. It was a disaster.
Has anyone tried to do this with success. Maybe I didn't get it wound right.

I used to use P-Line exclusively but have switched to Berkley Vanish Transition on my trolling rods. I am now on my 2nd 2,000 yd spool of the Berkley. They are both fluorocarbon lines and I have never experienced any problem with them on my spinning reels. They are both excellent lines but I prefer the Transition because it is more visible above the water. They have to go on the reel spool just like they come off or will twist. If the drag is set light be sure not to crank too much while the drag is slipping or that will also cause a twisted line.
From the ARK-LA-MISS Delta....... Crappie Paradise ! ! ! !
Tried Suffix 6# a couple of times....... took it off and have lots of leader material now!

Mr. Crappie Hi-Vis is all I've used for the bast two years and had good luck with it even in pretty clear water.
Make sure when you put it on that it comes off the spool counter clock wise. After you get the new line spooled, tie the tag end to something heavy, back off about 20 yards and give it a good stretch. Should be good to go.
Mr. Crappie High Vis!! I just recently got some and It really seems to do well. I like it because you can see it and is very strong with A low memory.![]()
Nothing like them FILLETS wrapped in your favorite Cornmeal Jackets...:D
I have always heard that you needed to spool it on with the label side up. I spooled this on through the window in the edge of the box. After it was in such a mess, I stripped it all off and tried to wind it back straight and it was just as bad. Today I spooled on some cheaper line with the label side up and it seems to be ok. I think it would have been ok on jig poles but casting was a definate no go, probably due to the way I loaded it on the reel.

Play the line out while trolling with nothing attached. May take a couple of times but seems to get the twist out.
