Heck fire, if the water continues to drop you can just go pick the fish up off the dried out lake bed, How much easier could it get turtlebait. Then you would not need fishing line or a fandangle graph, the only thing you would have to be elbow to elbow with would be the raccoons and the turtles getting the fish off the dried out lake bed. Its more than obvious that you to have been bored today, I have enjoyed the Him Hawing back and fourth, Most people would just get mad and leave, If your down around Conway and plan to fish let me know, I ll give you some probable locations for drum and bowfin, and gar maybe even a carp or two. But remember them there carp like dough balls.

I'll try to answer most of your questions in one post. It's too @#$% windy to fish today. The wind here is about 30 mph with gust of almost 40!! Fish in deeper water are less effected by the drastic change. Always pick a cloudy or stormy day ahead of a front as the barometric pressure is usually falling . Those beautiful sunny days with clear skies usually mean high pressue which is not good for fishing. Fish and game both get real active just before a storm, how they tell ? Well my theory is dropping barometric pressure. Usually after a major weather (cold) front has passed i like to wait 3 days before fishing.
Leo was an ornery old cuss , but good to you if he liked ya. I have lots of his baits and wish that I had more . Always hate losing one of them cause they are irreplaceable.
I plan on hitting 3000 posts today. Good luck on your fishing, I think I'll just stay in for a few days.

I like to check the local weather conditions. Airport reporting stations also give barometric pressures.

Well, you hit 3000, general!:D:D I love to fish right ahead of a front and then wait a few days after one. Three days sounds about right to me. Congrats on 3000!

Well ski, do you thunk we have a chance at hitting 3000? I probably wont, fishing will get in my way. But what better than fishing to keep me from hitting 3000.

I don't get mad,its not good for the heart,I try to teach grandsons to go by the rule book and not what they read on the board.
The lakes and oxbows around me aren't low enough or dry enough to pick up dinner...just low enough to see where to fish after the rise.

Just show me a lake covered in duck weed and I'll show you what a bucket mouth really looks like.I keep a hook sharper by my needlenose as not break his neck on hookset....I make fun of one of my fishing partners when a 4lb goes flying over the boat.He has broken several boat seats on hooksets plus almost fall out of the boat. When I bass fish I have a butt seat and only use a wrist snap to set the hook.

A taste of 70+ degrees over the weekend has really given alot of us the bug. Now old man winter is rearing his ugly head again. Well, it's only the first of Feb. so I know we have alot of winter to get thru yet, but it sure would be nice to get some more days like that to slip some more fishing in between breaks in the cold, windy, bad weather.:o
