the regs just say "free floating devices" are limited to 20 not 30. If you put the yo-yo on a float and turn it loose it becomes a free floating device. Unless you tie it out so as to not free float.

and hiclay if you are sitting in your room I doubt that they would consider you within hearing distance

Which pipe would be better to make these with the black water pipe or pvc pipe?

Black pipe is cheaper. Harder to see without a spot light and tape. I think they turn over easier than PVC. But I have only fished with them one time.

I have about 10 or 12 of the PVC ones that I use.

Black water pipe is a lot cheaper and easier to work with. you do not have to glue the pipe to ( T). It will fit tight enough that you can fold down the up right piece for storage and just pull up for fishing.

GUYS SOUNDS LIKE SEVERAL OF YOU NEED TO READ THE REGS BEFORE YOU RUN INTO TROUBLE. HERE IS THE REGS COPIED FROM AGFC WEBSITE. I WOULD SAY FLOATING YOYOS WOULD BE CONSIDERED FREE FLOATING DEVICES.

Jug and Noodle FishingUp to 20 free-floating fishing devices (jugs or noodles) not attached to a stationary object or boat may be used per person.
All free-floating fishing devices must be clearly marked with the user's name and address, driver's license number or current vehicle tag number.
Free-floating fishing devices may be unattended only from sunset to sunrise.

Yo-yos may be left unattended at night.
Yo-yos must be within sight or hearing during daylight hours.
No more than one yo-yo may be hung from a single line, wire, limb or support.
Yo-yos must be labeled with the user's name and address, driver's license number or current vehicle license number.
Stakes used to mount yo-yos on AGFC-owned lakes must be made of wood or cane and must be removed when not in use.

I asked the G&F on their Facebook page and they responded that a Yo-Yo is treated as a Yo-Yo regardless if it's floating or not.

Yes both sets of regs would apply if free floated(not tied to a stationary object). You meet up with the right warden and you could be facing a ticket upon his discretion of the rules.
