    Default Awesome weekend

The Mrs and I pulled our camper and boat to Sugarloaf on Greer's Ferry Friday evening. Pulling that double rig was a challenge in the Hog traffic headed to the game.
I was shocked to learn you can't buy minners Saturday morning. So, this changed my game plan. I wanted to try to concentrate on some of the condos I have found while dragging Bandits this weekend. Instead of minners, I fed 'em some MidSouth tube jigs. It was too slow for me, so I started dragging them. I ended up with 12 and probably culled that many. The white bass were boiling up everywhere. I couldn't get them to hit anything I had. I watched an eagle do his thing. He would fly over the activity and swoop down on it. The evening was a wash due to the pending front and all of the 4' waves it can produce.
Sunday morning I woke to a little calmer lake. I went back to my crappie hole and didn't catch but one. I was trying some different spots and everywhere I went, the bass were exploding all around me. They wouldn't hit anything I had to throw at them. As I was contemplating packing it in, I decided to try one more point. I sped up the TM to full ahead then "Wham!!". Two poles bent over backwards and spun the rod holders around before I could grab them. Those bass wanted somthing they could chase around 1.5 to 2 MPH. I Kept a dozen with two of them being hybrids. They were a great battle on my 11' trolling rods.
I also saw a crazy deer take of across the lake. It is aleast 2 miles across where she was headed. I knew she wouldn't make it. I kept my distance but had my rope handy to try to lasso her. Finally she started looking around and decided to turn around. She was a good 1/2 mile from the shore. I slipped up behind her and stayed about 20' back. When she got to the bank, she stepped up and turned around to look at me. Then, she mooned me and ran off. Ungreatfull.
    Good weekend.

DP I keep a 1/8 oz chrome rooster tail on a baitcaster for breaking fish on Greeson, have caught limits of whites before. Last spring I caught several lmb on a 200 series bandit if I could hit the swirl they would often grab it.
