Thread: Looking for a post from DP

I responded to a post from Jerry with a small report. But, here is the real deal....
We bought a camper last month and this was our second trip with it. We stayed in Kirby from 10-8 to 10-11. BTW...10-11 is the anniversury of the Mrs's wedding. I was there too.
I don't know what it is about Greeson. I can't get them to hit my Bandits or jigs. I tried longlining jigs the first day with no luck. I met Jerry to get his advise and picked up some minners on the next morning. It didn't take long and I was in to them. I caught about 60 good size crappie out of only two holes that I found the next two days. Actually, I am pretty sure they are Jerry's holes. I have had the waypoints for about 4 years now. I was fishing in 20' to 25' feet of water about 15' down. It was a great trip and sure makes my job seem like it is getting in the way.
I am heading back down the weekend of November 13th. One of these days I am going to carry a camera with me.
I mentioned Jerry a couple of times already. But, we all owe him and his team a debt of gratitude for this fishery.

I saw Jerry today and he told me you had posted.
I went up by Daisy this morning and could not buy a bite, saw Jerry at the Marina and he had a lot and a few really big ones.
Why its called fishing not catching as they say.

I use my 4 trolling rods stuck directly out the front of my boat. I put a bullet weight above a swivell with a #8 cricket hook on a leader below. Hook the minners in the lips. I don't use a bobber. I stick the end of the poles over the brush and try to leave the boat away from it. Specially if it is a bright sunny day. When you find a brush pile, you can bet there are a few more close by on this lake. I just mossey around them spider rig style. CEB would be proud of me.
