    Well guys and gals, today is Oct. 1, opening day of Bow deer season, This is the time of the year when all the fun really starts.:D:D If anyone is like me, they spend thier whole summer waiting in anticipation for the fall and winter for Crappie time and hunting season, And vise versa spend winter looking forward to the spring for more hunting and the spring spawn. I fish for crappie exclusivly on Lake Conway, I am hoping for a stellar year. Hopefully our AG&FC dont take advantage of the easily caught Crappie and try to net them all out of the lake again this year, as in years past. One can sure see a difference in the crappie fishing on the years that they net them out of the best winter fishing spots. Mostly Caney creek and Gold creek are the spots they net. They say its for testing the fish for age and illnesses, I say it for some major fish fry somewhere. A fish fry that they have never invited me to. Any how, I am looking forward to seeing the board get really active with fishing reports and lots of fish pictures, Hope that everyone has good Crappie fishing this fall on thier favorite lakes. I really hope to meet a few of the Crappie.com members on the water this year as well. I am a weekend fisherman, as I have to work through the week. So I have to fight the weekend crowds and traffic on the lake for my chance at a few tasty Crappie. But for the most part it worth the battle. Folks, Going into these Fall and winter months, Keep safety in mind. Whether you are deer hunting or fishing, or a combination of both, a Safe trip and safe return home should be Everyones Goal.

    Roger on that waiting all summer for fall.:D Man, it's been a hot summer this year and I'm ready for some of this fall weather. Don't bow hunt anymore but will be in the deer woods entire muzzle loading season then back home for a couple of weeks then back for gun season. Don't get much fall crappie fishing in but am going to try to make it up to the pool with CP during that two weeks between seasons.:D:D May get to fish more than just in the pool. I'll be checking the board every day to hear all those good reports from everybody. Hope it's a great fall of fishing.

    I expect a cool boat ride each morning this weekend.
    Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
    The sheep live in fear of the wolf but in the end it's the shepherd that eats them.
    The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes click when it is supposed to go bang and

    Maybe you will spur some folks into writing about their fall fishing exploits. Here is you one.
    My son took the bow and went hunting yesterday. So with friday being my off day I was forced into going crappie fishing. Lake Greeson. Caught 13 crappie, 4 lmb. Fished structure, one, 17' to 20', one 24', started out using minnows on long poles then went to kalin tripple threat on ultra lite, a couple came off the jigs but majority were on minnows, had to be fishing deep as possible to get a bite. Got a little windy up in the morn. An absolutely beutiful day to be out on the water. Sorry no pict.
    Carried my sister out friday a week ago and she caught a crappie about 16"s long.

    Awe... Cool weather... I'm def ready to sling some arrows at some fur!!!! Also looking forward to dropping some crappie condos at my home lake here in Scott. Never done it before but we were impressed with the ones that we found over at Nimrod this summer. The bamboo seems to hold fish no matter what time of year it is.

    What is your home lake, Mooney? Old River Lake? Can't just anybody get in there, can you?

    now that's productivity and sharing. Congrats on the stringer of crappie.

    Yeah it is Old River Lake. It is a private lake and you have to have property on the lake to fish it, or at least in our club. Of course you can always find someone with their own ramp and ask. There are other rod and reel clubs around the lake but I do not know what their requirments are for membership. Its a good lake when it is right though, i sure enjoy fishing it!!!
