    Default Lake Conway

Thinking about looking at some new water this weekend and any info would be helpful. First of all I've never been there and being from Jonesboro its not like I will fish it all the time after work. Now I just used mapquest to tell me its 2 hr and 41min and 148 miles. That gets me to the lake. What ramp to use would be next and I can maybe figure the rest of it out but any other info would help. Maybe I could tie up with another crappie.commer and tell each other some lies. Also if I need to wait a few weeks to go let me know. Thank Alot

    Welcome Billy E
I am partial to area Gold Creek. I have been all over the lake and have been successful at times. About the middle of October business will be picking up in what we call the "pool" or the "cove". It is actually called Wilamena Cove. Just put in at Gold Creek marina (Dano's) and follow the boats up the creek. Dano can fix you up with minners or what ever might be Hot that particular day.

Thanks DP. If you see a SeaArk Rebel 15 stick steering with 40 hp nissan you the back (tan boat) throw a wake on me and say hello. So I guess there is enough water to put in and fish. Thanks

    Billy E.

You really need to have a good Lake Conway map before you start out. There are a million stumps in Lake Conway and you need to know where the boat lanes are to get around the lake. They are pretty well marked but you still need to know where they are. I know you can get one at Bates Field and Stream in Mayflower, and maybe at other shops (Dano at Gold Creek Landing) but I wouldn't venture out there without one. Good luck to you.

I printed one off the game and fish web site and the boat lanes are marked. I also fish Reelfoot and all are lakes are dry. Iam not that green crap chaser that flys across the lake. If you have ever fished Old Town when its this low you must want it. And we have no maps just beer cans and yoyos for markers. I will take your advice but I have to go somewere.
