Can anyone recommend a good Mercury mechanic in the Conway/Little Rock area?
Thanks!

Bradford is fine if you're not in a hurry to get it back. I DO NOT recommend H20. I don't bash, but you're welcome to PM me if you'd like. Please don't take take your Merc there though. I've heard good things about Riverside Marine but don't have any experience with them.

This guy is good people. Tell him Jerry Dean passed his # along.
Also, he'll work on other brands from 5hp to 300. His shop is in NLR.
Thanks to everyone!
I sucked it up and fixed it myself.
Been without a fishing boat for over a year.
Found a like new 2006 Express boat w/ 90 hp Mercury.
It was a great deal, so I bought it without running it.
Of course it looked like new because it had only set around and not been used much.
I am used to working on simple stuff, so the dis-assembly and re-assembly with 3 carburetors was a little intimidating.
All 3 carburetors were gummed up bad.
I used a can of Berrymans carb cleaner for soaking them.
That stuff works like magic! I highly recommend.
Did the test run today and was thrilled with the results.
Luckily my brother came for a visit right when I was re-assembling.
The extra pair of hands was a huge help.
Anyways.... Thanks for your input guys
Yeah...carb jobs can be a bit intimidating when you are looking at so many...lol. But once you get into them they are very simple and straight foward. Just BE SURE...they are all link and synced. If not you could run into trouble later on. If you don't know, that means that all carbs are opening and closing at the same time and at the same intervals. If not you will have lean/rich conditions and pressure on the engine...also will not run as smooth, efficiently, and powerful as it can.
Berrymans is GREAT stuff!! I recommend running seafoam from now on...at least every third tank...and BE SURE the boat has a water/seperator filter on it.
Another part of link and sync is setting the timing...this should not be out...but may be if you didn't check it. This is fairly easy to do with a basic timing light. If interested shoot me a PM and I'll walk you through it.
Glad you got it going!!! SUCH a thrill to get something going on your own...gives me goosebumps thinking about it. ALTHOUGH can be very frustrating at times.... ask Agrihawg...he's seen me PLENTY frustrated at my little projects I used to do!! lol :o
