Thanks for the support fellows; I've shopping and now I'm back on the water. I hadn't thought of the home owners; I'll give them a call. It's hard to remember everything you have in a tackle box; I had forgot to buy another bait pump; today I on the water I rememberd the binoculars and some maps I had.

I see no problem with that, I had my own gun and ammo in my room along with my brothers since I was 8 years old. Just depends on how you are raised

    Default Long story made short

I had a boat stolen off the river where we own property. I met a truck going down the highway a year and a half later with the boat slid up in the back. It had been painted, but I still recognized it. By the time I got turned around they had got off the highway and turned into a grocery store. When I arrived at the store I checked the boat to make sure it was mine and called the police. Before the police arrived, the 2 occupants of the truck came out of the store and started to get in the truck. I walked up to them, introduced myself and asked them if they would mind waiting a couple minutes because that was my boat in the back of their truck and the police was on their way. I got to see a couple guys jaw drop. The police arrived and they said that they had "found" the boat floating down the river. The boat had been locked with aircraft cable and a lock which was found cut where the boat was stolen from. The police told me that these young guys had never been in trouble and he didn't think they had stolen the boat. I told them to go on fishing and I would pick the boat up at their house after I got off work. When me and a buddy arrived at their house after work, the boat was setting out beside the road ready to be picked up.

Unless I'm on Federal water, there's always a gun in my pocket. I've been confronted with bullies and crooks before, but when looking down the barrel of a loaded hand gun will usually cool them off. "Never mess with an old man, if he can't whip you, he'll likely shoot you." Keep your trailer hitch locked to your truck and your boat locked to the hitch.

I guess Ed removed GCD's rediculous post. Talk about blaming the victim.

I've had one 25 hp Mercury motor and 3 different shotguns stolen, and I was royally PO'd every time. I hate a thief.

Bull Shoals is over 200 feet deep in places, but averages 80. And it is Federal water since it is controled by the Corps of Engineers.

I don't work for the COE. I operate the Port of Little Rock. I don't know what the regs are. I know they don't appreciate you squirrel hunting from a boat.
I was just implying that if I had to throw down on someone in the middel of 80 to 200 feet of water, he might not be around to prove it:D.
