Default Crappie on Little Red River

Have been fishing the little red a few times and doing pretty good. This year is the first time fishing it. The fish are 6 to 8 foot deep. Seems like the best time is when the river is down and their not gen. at Heber. Havent learned when they gen. but seems like the first of the week is the best time. Seems like the closer you get to White River is better. I think the fish are comining up into the red for the cooler water. Have noticed the water temp. any were from 72 - 82 degrees. It shure is nice whith that cool of water in this heat.

I have been putting in at the end of Liberty Valley Road. You go down to the end and it is on the right, you cant miss it. It is a nice concrete landing.
Your bass boat would be fine. I would like to know the scedule of when the corps gen. at Heber. Does anyone know when they do gen. Do they do it the same time every week?

Used to put in at Georgetown, go right and fish the big oxbow, left to the Red. That was 30 plus years ago, should still be able to do that?

The landing where I have been putting is if you are leaving Bald Knob going east on 64 about 2 miles out of town on your right is Liberty Valley Road. Go 4 to 5 miles down it and it will be on your right. Their is a sign saying something about the federal ground boat lunch. This seems to be the better place to put in, their are alot of tops to fish. Plus you can go either way and have plenty places to fish. You can go down to the Island where the White and Red meet. It is a little bit of a boat ride but not to bad. Their is another landing in Henry Gray going back to mallard pond just past whirl lake that is just a few hundred yards up where the Red and White meet. You can see both of them on google. I will be at the one on liberty valley Saturday morning to see if they are still bitting or if the river is to high. If the river is up time to head to Murphy and Walker lake. Good luck and hope to see some of yall out their.

Don't forget Nimmo. It's on the other side of the river between those 2.

Have you been catching good messes with size??
