    little bream that get pumped into rice fields. used for catfish bait most of the time. live bream is what i use most the time when catfishin.

    Most of them are green sunfish. PM Hawgdog and he can tell you all about them.:D

    Most creeks and sloughs around Arkansas have them. They get pumped into irragation ditches along with all kinds of other fry. Some fish farmers raise them for bait or to stock ponds. They have even hybridized them with Bluegill to create a fast growing fish for ponds.

    They make good Flathead bait,but I like to catch my own as I perfer larger ones.

    green sunfish...best flathead bait there is imo...good eatin if you can find some big ones in the creeks in the northern part of the state.

    They look more like a goggle eye to me. They have a larger mouth than a sunfish. I find them more around rocky structure than anywhere else. I may keep a larger one to eat. But, they have too much of a body cavity and will not leave much meat after fileted.

    Green Sunfish and Warmouths are both called Goggleyes in some locals. Here is some pictures of Flatheads that were caught using them for bait.:D
