we have a small lake at work, were i use to be able to catch a lot of big crappie, but they raised the water level a foot and it seems all i can find are hand size or smaller.everyone said that the people off 65th and arch st. are sneakin in and fishing it out . but they are on the bank,so i dont believe that. any ideals ?

You must be fishing at Granite mtn Quarries. Heard it used to have some good fish. Is there any cover in the lake ? When did you last catch good ones ? Could be the heat or maybe it has gotten over populated.

dont get me wrong, you can pull out a big crappie sometimes, but that wont be but once or twice a year.before it got hot i could catch a crappie about every 3rd throw.but all of them are to small .i quit fishing it for years but i could never forget how it was to jerk them slabs out one after another.
3m you can see it just before you get off the freeway at 65 street.it has a lot of stumps, but the deepest part is next to the bank thats were your able to catch em

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
