    Default Pulling cranks vrs. longlining

Is there any advantage to longlining with jigs compared to pulling crackbaits? From what I have read they both seem to be effective, but it seems to me using the crankbaits would be a little easier to do. Am I wrong? When would one technique be better than the other? Thanks for any info. Most of my fishing is done in a shallow lake. Would depth have any bearing on things?

Longlining would be cheaper, .50 cent jig vs 5.00 crankbait. You can cover more water with cranks, 1.5-2.5 mph vs 1.0-1.5 mph. I seem to catch bigger fish with cranksbaits vs jigs. Just my .02

No all I have ever pulled is Bandit 300's. I caught fish with them the first time I tried it so I have no changed.

Looks like they would get you more bites because of the size. Prolly have to rig it sort of like a carolina rig to control depth. Thinkin about trying that in a couple of places that are shallow water spots where running 200's or 300's would have you plowin mud.

Just let out less line on the 300's and they don't go so deep. That's why I pull from the side of my boats and not off the back. Try to fish water that the boat has not been through.
