I've been hung on a stump or three on Conway. Doncha hate the one that's
just far enough under the water to get to the center of the boat then lodge. There you are, spinning around in a circle looking like a fool and hoping no one is watching.
I got so dizzy one time I fell out of the boat. That made it easier to get it off the stump:p

Fiberglass bass boats dont hang up on stumps as readily as alluminum boats do. Glass boats just slide from from side to side off of the stumps with little or no effort at all. the only time glass boats hang up on stumps is when there is rusted off steel stuck in the stump which if in this situation will soon be stuck in the gel coat of you hull. Thus making it hard to get a glass boat un stuck. I have on one or two occasions had to start my outboard up to get off of stump but that is only when there is two or three stumps caught under the boat in a triangle formation, one under each rear corner and one under the front.

In the '60s when them stumps was all live trees it was a nightmare to navigate and a compass was a necessity cause you got 100 yards from shore you was LOST!
