Yes, even "Pro Staffer's" make mistakes. However, Conway is famous for stumps and I'll take a bet with you that even with the best of sonars (which I think that my HB side/down imagers fall into that category) cannot see a stump three feet in front of the boat, 6 inches under the water before it is too late.![]()

If you havent broke something in that lake , then you aint fishin it enough!
Have had to crank the big motor to get off of more than one stump on Conway. Ofcourse that can get dicey too. If you find yourself in a spot to need the big motor, pull the TM up first.
Midsouth Man, let me start out by saying it was good to meet you this past weekend at the ramp on Conway, I hate to hear about Conway eating your trolling motor. That lake has a tendancy to do that to some people. I would imagine you thought I was crazy when I took out of the landing Sunday, I tell every one to never try what they are about to see me do. I have fished Conway my entire life, I know where all the boat lanes are that ain't marked and I know what boat lanes are marked incorrectly as well. I tell most people if they try to navigate Conway the way that I do, they need to add their boat mechanics number to speed dial on their phones. I have only had to have repairs made to my boat one time, since I have been fishing Conway, and it was not my fault. I drove my boat across a stump the had a peice of rusted off rebar in it and tore a hole in my boat. If you want a no damage tour of how to navigate Conway sometime, just drop me a private message and I will take you out and show you the safest routes to take on the lake.
You can't beat the taste of them ole fried SLABS N TATERS!!
Nice to meet you too slabsntaters. Yes, when you took off, I thought OMG!
Might take you up on the "Pro Tour" of the lake, seems like I need some navigational advice! LOL......
Seriously, it was just one of those "freak" accidents that I could probably have avoided.

How do you get an invite for the boat lane tour? I'll bring snacks and drinks:D
If the boat lane guide will launch a pontoon, I'm in with a grill and some steaks:D
I've been hung on a stump or three on Conway. Doncha hate the one that's
just far enough under the water to get to the center of the boat then lodge. There you are, spinning around in a circle looking like a fool and hoping no one is watching.
