Anybody gonna brave the heat and go this weekend. I think I will pull cranks on Greers if I don't have to work. This heat is hard on refrigeration equipment.

Would love to but this heat is making me stay close to work. Being on call 24-7 is no good.

I've been braving the heat,not getting to the lakes until 8:30 to 9:00 fishing until 2:30 to 3:00.I'm trying to learn more on how to catch more fish in swallow lakes in the heat of the day.Been doing ok with 15 to 25 fish each trip all but thursday with only ten fish.The longer this heat wave lasts the harder it is to catch in swallow water.Not interested in filling a cooler just learning how to with jigs and spinners.Some days it takes a beetle spin type spinner with 1/16 jig head with a 4 inch curly tail slow rolled.Other days you haveta dig though your tackle box and wish you where sitting under the AC,lol.
Not wanting to hijack your post but can you guess what type fish this is?caught it thursday on a 1/32 pony head with 2in. blue/white curly tail,8/1 HI-VIS yellow braid.After the battle and releasing it I had to find a shade tree to get under to cool off.I sent this picture to my fishing partner and told him it was a bass,so for I've gotten by with it lol.

Long fin down the back says it aint a bass but cant really tell from that pic.

I am headed to Ouachita in the morning. I doubt I will get to do much fishing. Next week is our annual island camping trip. The wife always likes to go scouting for the perfect island before we go. I do intend to drag some cranks on the way back through the Crystal Springs chute; that is if I don't get knocked out of the water by the lice.

I havent been anywhere lately, Too dang hot, and I've been buisy here at home. Might break loose Sat. or Sun. and go to Greers. Wayne, is Hill Creek Marina still scattered? I havent had a chance to go up there and see it yet.
