    Default Trotline Question

Soon as this rain moves out I'm heading to Greers for the weekend. I am going to crappie fish but I am also thinking about putting out a trotline and maybe some limb lines for flathead, something I haven't done in a long time. My question is what do you guys on here use to label your trotlines with so they are legal? Mine are in the water all the way when I set them. I have several jugs but do not feel llike chasing them by myself so I am goin to try something different. I ain't goin to set many hooks but there are going to be several of us up there and I would love to be able to cook fish Saturday afternoon for everyone, I think I might need some help from Mr Catfish

I have some metal tags that have a wire twisty tie on them, and that way the ink may wash off, but the impression of name and vehicle id will still be there.

You can cut up a plastic jug into tags, punch a hole in it so you can slide it on your line and just use a permanent marker to write your info on it. You can also just write it on a piece of duct tape then just fold it and tape it to itself on the line.

name tag like you would put on a dog collar works really well. Most feed stores make them.

You can use the inside of a coke can. The pen will not wright on it but will leave an inpression that can be read.

Man Devils Fork was pretty muddy and had a bunch of trash floating in it. Managed one tiny crappie all weekend. Also caught one flathead and a couple of channel cat, they have already been ate along with 5 walleye and a crappie that my uncle caught while fishing Saturday. I did not fish just real hard, spent a lot of time with the family. The best part was catching bait with my year and a half old son, he threw rocks in the water while I caught some bream. Beautiful weekend to be on the water. Thanks for the help on the trotline tags fellows
