    Default Fishing Around Searcy?

Anybody know much about the crappie fishing around Searcy? I just moved here and I am looking to go out this weekend. Any tips would be great.

Des Arc isnt too bad of a drive from there either. I'd hit Barnett or Greer's first though.

Welcome to Searcy, Barnet is a good start. Crappie fishing is good when they're biting. Bream or Bass are almost always good. I think Henry Gray is probably closed right now. The White River level was about 30 at Augusta.

    Smile Fishing around Searcy

Welcome to Searcy. If u ever decide to go to the refuge, make sure u take plenty of skeeter spray-they will eat u alive over there! Some other good places are seven mile lake near Gregory and Calachi Bay near Biscoe. Only problem right now is all this rain has a lot of these "off the beaten path" spots pretty messed up right now-but when the water gets right it's gonna be on like donkey kong!

Also there are a lot of old river lakes along White River and even off the Cache River. Some are private, some are pay to put in, and some are open if you can get a boat in them.

Welcome to Searcy! I did well on Barnett earlier in the spring, but haven't been in a while so unfortunately no update there. The river stage at Augusta has been holding up and I believe keeping Hurricane closed for the most part. I believe seven mile has been hit or miss the last 2-3 weeks. .. my motor has been in shop for a couple of weeks now so no recent fishing for me....Conway isn't far and it's been good lately...

I'm from Searcy as well. We like to crappie fish/run yo-yo's at Hurricane Lake. If the gates are closed (due to the roads being underwater from the White's flooding), you can still put in at the concrete parking lot and run back down Glaise Creek, into Big Hurricane, Little Hurricane, the Bell's, Whirl, etc. BUT, and I do mean a BIG BUT, make SURE you have a GPS with you if you haven't been in there before. Very easy to get turned around in there very quickly. Very quickly. You can get on Google Earth and get the coordinates to the lakes if need be.
