    Default Help****Need crappie tackle suggestions

Headed to Bass Pro tomorrow to get some tackle. Only get up there about every 3 years. I need some tackle suggestions from you anglers on what you would suggest that I buy for crappie fishing.
I've read allot these past few days, thats got me thinking about the drop shot rig, also trolling with the bandit lures.
    1. When trolling do I need a line counter?
I've been using 6lb test trilene monofilament, would you suggest something different?
Been fishing the Norfork lake in Ark.

Any info would be greatly appreciated , thanks in advance !!!

I use 10 ft. B'n'M Pro Troller rods, Okuma DX 15 line counter reels, and 15 lb. high vis line to pull crankbaits.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I would probably go with at least a 10lb+ plus line for pulling cranks. There is a great thread down on the Mississippi forum concerning this. I was at Basspro a couple weeks ago and purchased a couple of Bandit 300's that were labled Crappie. They were right beside the regular 300's. The only thing I could see different were the hooks. Have fun and stimulate the economy by buying lot's of stuff.

You don't have to use line counter reels or trolling rods. When I started I used medium spinning tackle. You will want to use 10# for pulling cranks. I plan on trying pullin Bandits on Norfork sometime this summer. Keep us posted on how you do.

No need a retreiver for Norfork, no structure in the lake.
