Fished brewer yesterday....crappie are in the buck brush but hard to get to. Water temp was 66-68 deg. Ended up catching 10 crappie with 2 being short. Some came from the shallows and some from the brush piles. The little bass were everywhere and hard to keep off the line. Also caught 4 whites. The best bite was early and slowed as the day wore on.
Thanks for the report Tory, atleast you were able to goand not stuck at work.

When you say in the buckbrush are you talking about heading back under the bridge up the creek?
No bridge to go under on Brewer. The buck brush pretty much lines the lake. The problem is since they raised the lake 4' a couple of years ago the water goes a long ways back into the brush and you can't get a boat in so you have to fish the outside or where you can reach with a long rod.
Good grief...I was thinking about Barnett, not Brewer.
Were you up in the north end or elsewhere? We couldnt buy a decent crappie in the brush up near the creek run in this past Sat. morning. Talked to some guys dunkin shiners that were having the same luck we were with jigs.
Forgot who but someone said in the Barnett thread that it was the toughest lake they knew for crappie but Brewer has me stumped completely so far. I know they are there because I have caught some good ones there but it is always ones and twos.
